EPF & Gratuity Calculator

Calculator

Two calculators in one: work out your gratuity payout when you leave a job, and project your EPF corpus at retirement based on your current PF balance and monthly basic salary.

Gratuity calculator

On leaving after 5+ years of continuous service.

A part-year of 6 months or more rounds up to the next full year, per the formula.

Gratuity Payout

Payment of Gratuity Act, 1972

Fill in the form to see your gratuity amount.

Formula: (basic + DA) × 15 × years of service ÷ 26, capped tax-free at ₹20,00,000 under section 19 of the Income-tax Act, 2025 (earlier section 10(10)).

EPF maturity calculator

Estimates your PF corpus at retirement.

8.25% is the EPFO-notified rate for FY 2025-26 — change it if a future year's rate is announced.

Projected PF Corpus

At retirement

Fill in the form to project your PF corpus.

Estimate only — assumes basic + DA rises by your entered increment once a year, a constant interest rate, no withdrawals, and EPS capped at the ₹25,000 wage ceiling (raised from ₹15,000 on 17 September 2026). Your actual EPFO statement may differ.

How is gratuity calculated?

For employees covered under the Payment of Gratuity Act, 1972, gratuity is calculated as (last drawn basic salary + dearness allowance) × 15 × years of service ÷ 26 — the 26 representing working days in a month and 15 the days' wages paid per year of service. You need at least 5 years of continuous service to be eligible, except in cases of death or disablement. Gratuity received is tax-exempt up to ₹20,00,000 under Section 10(10); any amount above that is taxable as salary income.

How is EPF maturity estimated?

Each month, you contribute 12% of your basic + DA to your EPF account, and your employer contributes another 12% — split between the Employee Pension Scheme (8.33% of basic, capped at the ₹25,000 wage ceiling since 17 September 2026) and the EPF account itself. Both parties' contributions earn interest at the EPFO-declared rate, compounded monthly in this estimate. This calculator projects your balance forward year by year, growing your basic salary by your entered increment percentage each year.

What isn't included in this estimate?

This doesn't model VPF (voluntary PF top-ups), partial withdrawals, job changes with PF transfers, or years where your basic salary didn't grow at a steady rate. EPFO also calculates interest slightly differently — on the monthly running balance rather than a simple end-of-year compound — so treat this as a directional estimate, not your exact EPF passbook figure.
